Simple Search Tab Page
This tab page is the initial screen of the drug search. It only displays the search criteria which is most necessary and commonly changed manually. For the search, however, the system will take into account all other search criteria on the Complex Search
and Enhanced
tab pages.
The following search criteria are available:
Search term
In this group box you can enter the search term (e.g. asp*) to search for a drug (e.g. Aspirin). The system searches for the search term in all selected search fields.
Special request
Select the Special Request
checkbox to search for drugs for a special request. When you search for a special request the system searches through all active drugs of the current catalog of the institution. It does not take into account the usage settings stored for the drugs but searches the entire drug catalog.
Note
The Special Request
checkbox is not available in the anamnestic drug search. In this mode the system will always search in the entire selected drug catalog.
Phonetic Search
The Phonetic Search
checkbox is only available if you have configured a search procedure to be used in the user-specific presettings, and the drug catalog in which the search is executed has been indexed using this search algorithm. The checkbox controls whether the system searches for drugs phonetically or using a standard search. You can control the presetting of this checkbox using the user-specific presettings. Select the Start with Phonetic Search
checkbox on the Search
tab page in the Search Mode and Procedure
group box to start the drug search with a phonetic search. See Search Tab Page
Purpose
In the search you determine the purpose (e.g. administration, dispensing, print prescription) the system should search for drugs for. Depending on the drug search call, the checkboxes for the order purposes can be selected in different ways:
When you call the drug search from the order you must select exactly one order purpose. The results list will contain drugs which are suitable for this order purpose and satisfy the selected search criteria. If you order one of the drugs found, the order purpose for which you searched for drugs, is transferred as the purpose of the order.
When you call the drug search to create order templates you can select one or more order purposes. The results list contains all drugs which are permitted for one or more of the order purposes you selected and satisfy the selected search criteria. If you select a drug from the results list for the order template, the system will transfer all order purposes for which the drug is permitted and for which you searched, as the order purposes in the order template. The order template can be used for all of these order purposes.
If you call the drug search in the master data maintenance for drugs, you can search for drugs according to their purposes. If you do not select any of the checkboxes in this mode, the system will not take into account the order purpose setting when creating the results list.
If you use the drug search to search for ingredients for mixed drugs, the Simple Search
and Complex Search
tab pages contain a radio button for drug types instead of the order purpose checkboxes. This system presets this field with the drug types which would usually be required in the mixed drug. For example, the system presets this list for searching for ingredients for an infusion with the Active Agent of Infusion
, Agent of Infusion
and Solution
drug types.
The system uses the list of drug types entered in this field as selection criteria when compiling the results list. However, you can manually change the drug types preset in the search dialog at any time. In the ingredient search for mixed drugs you can find the checkboxes for order purposes on the Enhanced
tab page of the search dialog.
