The Search tab page contains all user-specific presettings relevant for the search behavior of the drug search.

The following group boxes are available for user-specific presettings on the Search tab page:

  • Search Area

    In this group box you can determine which search area is preselected when the search is called. The following options are available:

    • Formulary/drug catalog

    • Order Templates

    • Ingredients

    • Favorites

    You can also select which drug categories, e.g. Standard Drugs should be preselected when you call the search. The selected drug categories restrict the search in all selected areas of the search area.

    Note Note

    You cannot select the search area Ingredients and, simultaneously, only select the Standard drug category, as standard drugs have no ingredients.

  • Single Selection

    In this group box you can determine whether the system should display the search criteria area in the drug search, when you call the search for single selection of a drug from the results list (e.g. from the compressed order view).

  • Classification Search

    In this group box you can select the classification system with which the classification search is preset on the Classification tab page.

  • Enhance Search Criteria

    The system will enhance the search criteria accordingly when you select criteria.

    If you set the Subordinate Classification Code indicator, the system will also include in the search subordinate classification codes as well as the classification codes which satisfy the search criteria. If you search, for example, for drugs for the classification code N01, the system will also include drugs with the classification codes N01A, N01A01, etc. in the results list.

    If you set the Subordinate Health Problem Codes indicator, the system will search for order templates which are assigned to a subordinate problem code when searching for order templates if a problem code is specified.

    If you set the Enhanced Search Generic Name indicator, enter a search string in the drug search and start the search for a specific order purpose (administration/dispensing/print prescription), the system will search for drugs which correspond to the search string and are permitted for the specified order purpose. If the system cannot find any drugs which are permitted for the required order purpose, it will determine all generic names for the drugs found but which are not permitted for the purpose, and then search for drugs which are permitted for the purpose and have this generic name.

    Note Note

    Note that the system only executes the enhanced search using generic names if you have indexed the drug master data.

  • Standard Search Fields

    In this group box you select the search fields to be preset when you call the search.

  • Search Field Shortcut Key

    You determine an abbreviation indicator which, together with the shortened search term defined in customizing, you can use to search from the compressed order view or the order template.

    Example Example

    For example, with corresponding customizing you can enter the search string B/asp* in the Mnemonic field of the compressed order view, and call the drug search. The drug search searches in the Mnemonic search area for the string asp* and display all drugs which contain the string asp* in the mnemonic in the results list.

    Caution Caution

    Note that the search with an abbreviation indicator can be used when you call the search from the order dialog, from the dialog for order templates, or from master data management. You cannot, however, enter the abbreviation indicator directly in the drug search term.

  • Search Restrictions

    You can select a classification system for searching for dugs and order templates, which is preset as the classification system in the Restrictions group box of the Complex Search tab page when you call the search.

    The Automatic Presetting of Diagnosis Catalog checkbox means that the system always automatically presets the diagnosis catalog on the Enhanced tab page in the Template Restrictions group box, according to the diagnosis catalog validity criteria.

    Alternatively you can select the diagnosis catalog to be preset directly in this group box. In this case the validity of the diagnosis catalog is not checked for a patient case.

    The Clinical and Organizational Criteria and Clinical or Organizational Criteria radio buttons control which criteria must match when searching for order templates.

    Example Example

    If you select Clinical and Organizational Criteria the system will find order templates, which are assigned to an organizational unit and match the classification code or diagnosis code search criteria.

    If you select Clinical or Organizational Criteria, the system will find order templates which match the organizational unit or classification code or diagnosis code search criteria.

    Here you also can enter a problem catalog which should be preset in the search.

  • Search Mode and Procedure

    This group frame contains a selection list of the phonetic search algorithms available in the system. Here you select a procedure with which the system works during a phonetic search.

    You use the Start with Phonetic Search to control whether the system should principally always start the phonetic search procedure first, or whether the system should first execute a standardized search.

    Note Note

    When using phonetic search algorithm the drug search will also find results if the search string is not orthographically correct, for example, searching for "oxidozyn" will also find drugs with "oxytocin" in the name.
