You can assign one or more drugs created at a lower drug level (subordinate drugs) to a drug you have selected in the drug management navigation area.

Note Note

If you have defined two drug levels in the internal drug catalog in use, you can use this function for drugs of the first drug level.

If you have defined three drug levels in the internal drug catalog in use, you can use this function for drugs of the first and second drug levels.

The following drugs cannot be assigned to another drug and therefore included in a drug hierarchy.

  • Drugs of the patient's own medication (Pat. Own Med. indicator on the General tab page in the drug master)

  • Drugs where the Type of Drug Category is not equal to the value "Standard Drugs" (for example infusions with the "Fixed" or "Changeable" type of drug category)

Prerequisites

You have defined several drug levels for the internal drug catalog in use.

Furthermore, you have also already created or imported drugs of a subordinate drug level.

Procedure

  1. In the navigation area, select a drug to which you wish to assign a subordinate drug, and then choose Assign Subordinate Drug (Assign Subordinate Drug).

    The Assign Subordinate Drug dialog box appears.

    The system uses the selected drug to determine the drug(s) which belong to the next lowest drug level, are not yet assigned to superordinate drugs, and, according to the Connection Criteria can be assigned, and offers these for the assignment.

  2. Select one or more subordinate drugs which you wish to assign to the superordinate drug.

    You can hide any non-selected drugs by choosing Delete Non-Selected (Delete Non-Selected).

    Choose Find Suitable Drugs (Find Suitable Drugs) to (again) display all subordinate drugs, which were proposed due to the connection criteria for the assignment.

    Moreover, you can choose Find Drugs (Find Drugs) to find drugs for the assignment using the drug search.

    If you choose Find (Find), you can search for a search term within the displayed drugs and their attributes.

    The system displays the drug attributes (field values, classifications, and agents) which are or can be automatically inherited by the subordinate drug.

    Select the attributes you wish to display in the selection list for the icon with the quick info text Display Fields. The following options are available:

    • Display All

    • Display Confirmed

    • Display Confirmable

    • Display Differences

    As standard the system preselects all values which can be inherited by the subordinate drug in the Transfer column. You can deselect the values which should not be inherited by the subordinate drug.

    Caution Caution

    You cannot deselect values which the system flagged in the TransferAlways Transfer (Always Transfer) column.

    To select all optional values for inheritance, choose the All pushbutton.

    • If you have used this pushbutton to select all optional values for inheritance, the name of the pushbutton change to None and you can undo the selection of the optional values (except the selections Always Transfer (Always Transfer)).

    • If you have deselected all values for inheritance, the name of the pushbutton changes to Default and you can return to the preset selection of optional values originally made by the system.

    Note Note

    As standard, the system preselects all optional values as a default. However, you can use the Business Add-In (BAdI) ISHMED_ME_MD_PRC_INHERIT to customer-specifically change this. See Customer-Specific Enhancements for Medication

  3. Choose Assign Drug (Assign Drug) to execute the assignment.

    The Drug Management screen appears once again.
