The system calls event generation for PRN medication if the ordering employee set the PRN Medication indicator in a drug order.

Event generation for the administration of PRN Medication is possible for the following drugs:

  • Standard drugs (e.g. tablets)

  • Compounds (e.g. creams)

  • Intermittent infusions or nutritional solutions

    Caution Caution

    You should note that when the PRN Medication indicator is set, the actual event generation, for example for the administration of standard drugs and compounds, is replaced by the event generation for PRN medication.

Features

The system will generate a PRN medication main event for each day starting from the start time of the order. The PRN medication main event contains the remaining daily dose (depending on the cycle and the start time of the order).
