You use the Print Prescription function to select print prescription events which you wish to print on a prescription.

This function is available in the following view types of the clinical work station:

The Business Add-In ISHMED_ME_CALL_PRPRI is available for overriding the standard behavior when calling the Print Prescription function.

Procedure

Medication Orders

  1. In a view of the Medication Orders view type, you select one or more orders and then choose Print Prescription (Print Prescription).

    The Print Prescription dialog box appears where the system displays all print prescription events for the selected orders.

    • In the upper area the system displays the print prescription events for the orders. For each print prescription event the system will display the most important data such as, for example, the mnemonic, patient, notes for physician and pharmacist, etc.

    • In the lower screen area the system displays the input fields for the following information on the selected events, for example:

      • Administering Employee

      • Checked By: For entering a witness, if the drug has the Witness Required indicator in the drug master data.

      • Reason for repeat printing, if the print prescription event has already been printed.

    • Select one or more events and then choose Update (Update), to adapt the display of the input fields to suit the events.

  2. Enter the data as required, and then choose Transfer Selection (Transfer Selection).

    You branch to the print prescription dialog.

Medication Events/Inpatient Nursing Services

  1. In a view of the Medication Events/Inpatient Nursing Services view type, select one or more print prescription events and then choose Print Prescription (Print Prescription).

    The system displays the Print Prescription dialog box.

  2. Enter the required data, for example:

    • Administering Employee

    • Checked By: For entering a witness, if the drug has the Witness Required indicator in the drug master data.

    • Reason for repeat printing, if the print prescription event has already been printed.

  3. Choose Transfer Selection (Transfer Selection), to access the dialog for printing prescriptions.
