Function documentationCopy Orders

To use details of existing orders for new orders without ending the original order, or to transfer orders from a patient's treatment history, the system provides copy functions in different places. Depending on the respective environment, you can copy several orders at the same time.

Prerequisites

You have added the pushbuttons for the relevant functions. For information about configuring the function variant of the order dialog and the order detail dialog, see Calling Configuration of Function Variants in Medication Order.

Features

You can copy orders with any internal status. For each copied order, the system creates a new order with the internal status saved. The original order and the copied order do not become part of an order sequence.

When copying orders to a different purpose, you can substitute drugs. For information about the alternative selection, see Propose Alternatives.

Note Note

If you have to substitute one or more drugs because, for example, they are not defined for the selected purpose in the drug master, the checkbox is inactive for this drug.

End of the note.

For information about the display behavior of the order detail dialog when using copy functions, see Process an Individual Order in the Order Detail Dialog.

Copy Orders

The Copy Order function is available in the following places:

  • In views of the Medication Orders view type

  • In the order dialog

  • In the order detail dialog

In views of the Medication Orders view type, you can select one or more orders. Copy Order (Copy Order) takes you to the Create Order from Template dialog box in which you can select a patient. The dialog box also enables you to search for another patient via the patient search. The system transfers the orders into the order dialog for further processing.

Note Note

As system administrator, you can adapt this function customer-specifically with the Business Add-In N1ME_COPY_ORDER. See Customer-Specific Enhancements for Medication.

End of the note.

In the order dialog, you can copy orders in the medication of the selected patient. With Copy Order (Copy Order) you transfer one or more orders as new orders into the compressed view and can process them further.

In the order detail dialog, you can only copy the displayed order for use in the medication of the selected patient.

Copy Orders to a Different Purpose

In the order dialog, you can copy one or more orders and transfer them for a different purpose, by choosing one of the following functions:

  • Copy to Administration (Copy to Administration)

  • Copy to Dispensing (Copy to Dispensing)

  • Copy to Print Prescription (Copy to Print Prescription)

You can also use these functions in the order detail dialog. In this case, the system copies the displayed order.

Copy Orders from a Patient's Previous Cases

In the order dialog, you can use Copy Earlier Orders (Copy Earlier Orders) to select orders from the patient's medication history and transfer them into the current case for different purposes for each original order.

The system provides an overview of the patient's orders, hierarchically structured and grouped according to the following criteria:

  • Current and past cases

  • Purposes

  • Orders

In the overview, you can select one or more orders of different purposes. Using the pushbuttons of the corresponding functions you transfer the selected orders for the relevant purpose into the patient's current case.

The system collects the orders to be copied in the Shopping Cart screen area. Here you can select one or more orders and delete them from the preselection.
