The system determines the price for a reservation or continuous occupancy using the basic rent in conjunction with the length of time involved (duration of the rental) or a price basis defined in Customizing. If you do not want the price of a reservation or continuous occupancy to depend solely on these factors, you can have the system make a more complex price determination using price codes. This price determination is made using a rule-based derivation. The system always makes this derivation if a price code is assigned to a service or a condition type of a reservation object.
The following prerequisites must be met:
You made all the settings described in Room Reservations and Long-Term Seating Arrangements .
You assigned price codes to reservation objects. On the
SAP Easy Access
screen, choose
or
.
You defined derivation rules for reservations. On the

.
You defined derivation rules for services. On the

.
The system processes the derivation rules defined for the price code in their defined sequence. As soon as the conditions and source fields of one of the rules are considered valid, then the system determines the price of the reservation or occupancy using that rule. The system does not check if any later rules in the sequence are valid.
