Posting Premiums and Claims to Customer Contracts
To enable the identification and further processing of coinsurance shares for premiums and claims, the documents posted to the policyholder must contain a specific G/L item for each participating insurer.
A G/L item is identified as the coinsurance share for a specific coinsurer if the characteristics for the G/L item match the characteristic values for the DDIC structure, which you created and which was defined in the
Settings for Posting and Identifying Coinsurance Shares
.
Alternatively, you can specify the coinsurance key in the following ways:
You can define the coinsurance key directly for a G/L item. In this case, the direct specification of a coinsurance key takes priority and the system then determines without using the structure and characteristic value. Together with the coinsurance key, you must specify the category for the coinsurance-relevant document (premium or claim).
You can enter the coinsurance key in the payment plan item; it is then passed to the generated G/L item when executing the
Execute Payment Plans
application.
You can also enter the coinsurance key in the
Post Document
activity and display it in the
Display Document
application.
Note
You
cannot
change the coinsurance key retroactively, by using the
Change Document
application.
Posting Costs to Premiums, Claims
If you apply costs to the coinsurer for processing premiums/claims, premiums/costs must be assigned to premiums and claims/costs must be assigned to claims, to allow unique determination for posting coinsurance shares. Assignment takes place on document level. Each costs document is assigned to just one premium/claim; n costs documents can be assigned to one premium/claim.
The following data must be provided when posting:
When posting a premium or a claim to a customer contract, define a key in the
Reference
field (XBLNR). When posting to a corresponding costs contract for the coinsurer, define the same number in the
Reference field.
The due date for the premium/claim and the associated costs document are identical.
When posting a costs document to a coinsurer, define the business partner and contract number for the associated customer contract in the
Additional Reference
and
Alt. Partner
fields (VTRE2 and VGPART2).
You can also make postings to costs contracts for coinsurers without reference to a customer contract. The full amounts for the items are then posted to the appropriate coinsurance contract, when coinsurance shares are next posted (see Posting Coinsurance Shares ).
