Correction of Sales Figures You can use these functions to correct and check the sales figures for media issues that are no longer on sale and can no longer be returned, according to the actual quantities sold. If the sales figures are affected by an event, you can divide the quantity of each media issue and contract item actually sold into the corrected sales quantity and verified event quantity.
You use the function for correcting sales figures to clear differences between the planned sales quantities and the quantities actually sold. Differences can arise in the following cases:
Planned events, of which you are aware before outbound delivery
You correct the sales figures according to the actual sales quantities and reconcile the verified event quantity with the planned event quantity.
Unforeseen events, of which you become aware after outbound delivery
The actual sales quantities are affected by an unforeseen event (for example, a snowstorm). You correct the sales figures by correcting the sales quantity and assigning the verified event quantity to an event.
Inaccurate forecast of sales quantities
You use the function for correcting the sales figures to clean up the sales history for the forecast by assigning verified event quantities to events. This defines which quantities actually sold have been influenced by an event. This enables you to further refine your planning.
You have completed the sales and return process for the media issue. This means you will not be creating any further orders, deliveries, or returns for a media issue whose sales figures you are correcting.
Before you can process the corrected sales figures, you must initialize the correction. To do this, choose .

The quantity actually sold can be influenced by an event. This means you can subdivide the quantity actually sold as follows in the
Contract Items
screen area:
Corrected sales quantity
This is the quantity sold that was not affected by an event.
Verified event quantity
This quantity is influenced by an event and represents the difference between the actual quantity sold and the corrected sales quantity.
Note
The system indicates whether a contract item is assigned to one or more events in the
Number of Events Assigned
column. To view details of the events for a contract item, select an item in the
Number of Events Assigned
column. The system displays details of the events for the selected contract item in the
Events for Contract Items
screen area.
If you have assigned more than one event to a contract item, you can again distribute the verified event quantity for the contract item among the assigned events in the
Events for Contract Items
screen area. To do this, specify how the system is to distribute the
verified event quantity
for the contract item among the events in the
Weighting of Sales Figures
column. The weighting defines how strongly the events influenced the sales quantities. You can use the
Calculate
function to determine the verified event quantities for each event according to the weighting factors you specified.
Example
If one event affects sales of a media issue twice as strongly as another event, you enter the weighting factors 2 and 1 for the two events.
