Use

If you use engineering change management, the individual data records in the EH&S component Product Safety can have different validity periods.

The following data records can have different validity periods:

  • Material assignment

  • Dangerous goods regulation; defined for a UN listed substance (specification type LS_UN_SUB)

  • Dangerous goods classification; defined for a dangerous goods classification (specification type DG_CL_SUB)

  • Real substance (to which material and dangerous goods classification are assigned)

If the dangerous goods master is to be filled with data that has several validity periods, each valid-from or valid-to date causes the resulting data record to be split in the dangerous goods master.

Prerequisites

If you use change numbers in the specification database and want to transfer the data to the dangerous goods master, you must have set the Active indicator for the corresponding change numbers for the following object types:

  • Specification

  • Phrase

  • Dangerous goods

Features

The system takes changes into account that were made using change numbers. Changes that were made with change numbers cause data records to be split.
