Function documentationTask Hierarchy for Restatements

For restatement characteristics that are not initial, you can create separate task hierarchies in a consolidation area.

Prerequisites

You have activated one of the following two business functions:

  • Financials, Group Closing (EhP2)

  • Financials, Group Close, Restatement Monitor

The system behavior with regard to the task hierarchy for restatements depends on the activation status of these two business functions. So that you are able to use all of the features for restatements, activate the business function Financials, Group Close, Restatement Monitor, and then the function Restatement of Consolidation Group-Dependent Postings in the settings for the consolidation area.

Features

A task hierarchy for restatements can contain tasks of any task category. However, you can use the following task categories only once you have activated the Restatement of Consolidation Group-Dependent Postings function in the consolidation area:

  • Capitalization and value allowance of assets/liabilities

  • Elimination of interunit profit/loss in transferred inventory

  • Elimination of interunit profit/loss in transferred assets

  • Consolidation group change

  • Consolidation of investments

  • Consolidation group-dependent reclassification

If you have not activated the Restatement of Consolidation Group-Dependent Postings function, you can only create a single task hierarchy for restatements in a consolidation area. For this, you assign a special version to the hierarchy structure Task for Restatement. This must have a different identity than the task hierarchy for the actual data. (See “Activities” section). If you have activated theRestatement of Consolidation Group-Dependent Postings function, you can create a separate task hierarchy for each non-initial restatement characteristic value (by assigning a dedicated special hierarchy version). For more information, see Restatement of Additional Financial Data and Group-Dependent Entries.

If you enter a restatement value in the permanent parameters, the consolidation system uses the task hierarchy for restatements.

Status Management

The Restatement role is status-relevant. Status management in the consolidation monitor indicates the task status for each restatement.

The following explanations of status management in the restatement monitor are relevant only if you have activated the business function Financials, Group Close, Restatement Monitor:

Before the system can calculate difference values for a restatement, the relevant totals and documents must be available in the original data and in the entire chain of reference restatements. For tasks in restatements, status management therefore takes into account the status of a task in the original data as well as in the entire chain of reference restatements. For a task in a specific restatement, status management treats the same task in the original data as well as in the entire chain of reference restatements as a preceding task.

Example Example

This has the following effects, for example:

  • If you execute a task for a restatement and have not yet blocked this task in the original data or in a reference restatement, this task is assigned the status Pending even if errors do not occur during execution.

  • If you execute a task in the original data (or in a restatement), the system resets the status of this task in all restatements that directly or indirectly reference the original data (or the current restatement data slice).

  • If you unblock a task in the original data (or in a restatement), the system also unblocks this task in all restatements that directly or indirectly reference the original data (or the current restatement data slice).

  • If you want to block a task in a restatement, this task must first be blocked in the original data or in the entire chain of reference restatements.

End of the example.

Note Note

To display an overview of the preceding task relationships between the tasks within a restatement, open the consolidation workbench and choose Start of the navigation path Consolidation Monitor Next navigation step List Settings End of the navigation path.

End of the note.

Activities

To create the task hierarchy for restatements in a consolidation area, proceed as follows:

  1. In the process view of the consolidation workbench, choose Start of the navigation path Master Data Next navigation step Versions Next navigation step Special Versions Next navigation step Definition End of the navigation path, and create special versions of the type H0 (Hierarchy Structure).

  2. Choose Start of the navigation path Master Data Next navigation step Versions Next navigation step Special Versions Next navigation step Assign to Combinations End of the navigation path.

    • If you have not activated the Restatement of Consolidation Group-Dependent Postings function, under Start of the navigation path Special Version Types Next navigation step Hierarchy Structure End of the navigation path, assign the hierarchy structure Task for Restatement a special version that must have a different identity than the task hierarchy for the actual data.

    • If you have activated the Restatement of Consolidation Group-Dependent Postings functions, the Restatement node is displayed below the Hierarchy Structure node. An entry for each non-initial restatement characteristic value is available under this node. As standard, the special version 100 is assigned to each non-initial restatement characteristic value. You can assign a separate special hierarchy version to each non-initial restatement characteristic value.

  3. Save your changes.

  4. Enter an initial restatement value in the permanent parameters to define the task hierarchy for the actual data.

  5. Enter a non-initial restatement value in the permanent parameters to define the task hierarchy for the restatement.
