The objects and data structure of the component Personnel & Organization.

You use the component Personnel & Organization to represent the master data and assignments of organizational units, positions, and employees in the system. For this, you have the corresponding object types of the underlying components Organizational Management (PA-OS) and Personnel Administration (PA-PA) available.

Structure

The component Personnel & Organization uses the infotypes of various underlying Human Resources components to represent the master data of organizational units, positions, and employees. The system also stores the assignments between the objects in an infotype.

Integration

If you want to use the component Personnel & Organization to edit both employee data and organizational data, you need to activate the integration between the underlying components Organizational Management (PA-OS) and Personnel Administration (PA-PA):

  • You use the switch PLOGI ORGA to activate the integration in Customizing for the component Personnel & Organization under Start of the navigation path Integration Next navigation step Integration Between Employee Data and Organizational Data Next navigation step Set Up Integration End of the navigation path.

  • You schedule the report RHINTE30 as a regular job to ensure the required data consistency of the underlying components. For more information about this job, see the report documentation. This documentation also includes information about other reports that you can use to establish consisten data in existing employee and organizational data as required.

If you want to use the component Personnel & Organization to edit employee data only, you can deactivate the organizational data functions:

  • In Customizing for the component Personnel & Organization under Start of the navigation path Integration Next navigation step Integration Between Employee Data and Organizational Data Next navigation step Set Up "Personnel Only" Mode End of the navigation path, you set the Personnel Only indicator. The system automatically hides the visualization of organizational structures and modifies the functions for searching for objects.

  • You modify the user interfaces of the component Personnel & Organization such that there are no references to organizational data.

    Examples: When configuring the search functions, you do not choose search categories that refer to organizational objects. You modify the processes that refer to employee data such that organizational data is not accessed. You hide the screen areas of the landing page that refer to organizational data.
