This is an infotype that you use to define account assignment features (such as assignments to the controlling area) for organizational units and positions.

You use this infotype to assign organizational units and positions to organizational units of the Controlling (CO) and Financial Accounting (FI) components or to the enterprise structure. The data of an object that was entered using this infotype is passed on according to certain rules to lower-level objects in the hierarchy. For more information about assignments, see Relationships (Infotype 1001).

Controlling Area / Company Code / Business Area

You assign organizational units and positions to controlling areas, company codes, and business areas to represent their relationship to structures in Controlling and Financial Accounting, as well as to avoid incorrect data when assigning cost centers. For more information about assigning cost centers, see Master Cost Center (Relationship 011).

The component Personnel & Organization supports the following Customizing settings:

PPOM INHIC

If you specify a company code for an organizational unit, this value is passed on to the lower-level organizational units and cannot be changed.

Do not change this setting in table T77S0.

PPOM INHIH

X

If you specify a controlling area for an organizational unit, this value is passed on to the lower-level organizational units and cannot be changed.

Do not change this setting in table T77S0.

PPOM INHS

X

The values of an organizational unit are passed on to the assigned positions.

Do not change this setting in table T77S0.

Therefore, when entering data, note that the assignment of a controlling area or company code is passed on to lower-level objects, where it cannot be changed. The assignment of business areas is also passed on, but can be changed in objects on a lower level in the organizational structure.

Personnel Area / Personnel Subarea

You assign organizational units and positions to personnel areas and personnel subareas to represent the rough personnel administration structure in your organization and to facilitate the entry of additional data using default values, particularly when editing employee data. Assignments to personnel areas and personnel subareas are passed on to lower-level objects, where they can be changed.

Editing

You have the following editing options:

  • Create

Choose New to create a new data record. Since only one data record may exist for an object at a time, the system adjusts the validity periods of other existing data records as required. The system allows time gaps between individual data records.

  • Edit

Choose Edit to change the data of an existing data record.

    • You can change the content of the data record by adjusting the existing data and leaving the validity period of this data record unchanged.

    • You can change the validity period of a data record. As a result, the system adjusts the validity periods of other existing data records or automatically creates additional data records to close time gaps. However, since the system allows time gaps between individual data records, you can delete unwanted data records.

  • Delete

Since the system allows time gaps between individual data records, you can delete unwanted data records. To do so, choose Delete.
