Managing Tasks with BPM Inbox
You use this procedure to view and work on the tasks assigned to you.
Prerequisites
You have ensured that you have UnifiedInboxUserRole UME role and the com.sap.bpem.Enduser portal role assigned to you.

Procedure
- Log on to your BPM Inbox using the URL, https://<server>:<port>/bpminbox.
By default, BPM Inbox displays the open tasks.
- To view tasks in other categories, such as Completed Tasks, Overdue Tasks, or Escalated Tasks, select the required option from the task title dropdown
- You can view the tasks in BPM Inbox in two different views styles:
- List view

- Stream view

- List view
- To open the list view by default, add &sap-ui-inbox-defaultView=sap_inbox_list to the URL.
- To open the stream view by default, add &sap-ui-inbox-defaultView=sap_inbox_stream to the URL.
- To view the task application, select the desired task from the task list and click the Task Title link.
- You can perform actions on tasks. For more information on processing tasks, see Task Execution User Interface.
- To exit the task, close the window.
- To filter tasks, choose the Filter icon and select the criteria.
- To work on tasks, select one or more tasks from the task list and perform the action.
The standard actions such as Claim, Open, and Release are enabled or disabled based on the status of the selected task. The below table provides a detailed information of each task status and possible actions:

- To forward one or more tasks to other users for completion, see Forwarding Tasks.
- To assign substitutes to work on your tasks on your behalf, see Managing Substitution Rules in the BPM Inbox.
- To view custom attributes of a task:
- In List view, choose Filter and select the desired task type.
- In Stream view, choose the Show Task Details icon
for the task.
To view custom attributes of all the tasks, choose the Show all Task Details icon. The custom attributes provide additional information about the task instance for processing a task.
- To add comments while executing custom actions in the list view, choose the custom action and add comments.
- To add or view comments for a task in the stream view, choose on the Show Comments icon.
- To utilize more screen space for the task list, you can launch the lean BPM Inbox by entering the URL in the Web browser, http://<hostname>:port/bpminbox?sap-ui-inbox-lean=true.
If you receive bulk tasks in your inbox, you can utilize more screen space to display the task list. This feature is also useful when you are using lower resolution screens.You can view task list by hiding the header, by adding sap-ui-inbox-header=false to the URL.
