Forced Deactivating (Power Off) Virtual Elements

You stop SAP instances running on the virtual host and disconnect the virtual systems from the power supply.

Prerequisites

  • You have permission VirtualResource(ForceActivate,ForceDeactivateSoft,ForceDeactivateHard,ForceSuspend,ForceMigrate).

  • The virtual element status is Active Active.

  • Optional: You have enabled cluster integration.

    If you have enabled cluster integration, SAP Landscape Management automatically adapts the operation.

Procedure

  1. Choose Operations.
  2. Choose Cloud or Virtualization from the tabs.
  3. From the Operations dropdown of the virtual element, choose Start of the navigation pathForced Next navigation step Forced Deactivate (Power Off)End of the navigation path.
  4. Optional: Select the Set Note checkbox and enter a note to be displayed in the Information column of the virtual element.
  5. Choose Execute.

Results

  1. Stops the SAP instances running on the virtual hosts.

  2. Disconnects the virtual systems from the power supply.
