Tables in Database Schema

To facilitate the understanding of the database schema, the following elements represent the structure of the database:

Data in Database Subdata Description
Master Data and Business/Custom Data
  • Master Data
    • Customer Master Data (in High Volume)
  • Business and Custom Data

Power users create and maintain low volume of business/custom data and master data. They configure the pricing catalogs of service providers. A master data is owned by a service provider and limited to this provider. Nobody owns the business/custom data that is available in the complete SAP CC system for configuring master data or performing business operations (charging and refillin operations).

The SAP CC system stores high volume of master data related to end customers of service providers created by an interfaced CRM application or provisioning system.

Business Processing Data The SAP CC Core Server system stores high volume of business processing data for different periods.
Technical Data Technical Information
  • SAP CC User Data
  • User Operation Auditing Data
  • Data Object Auditing Data
  • Usage Metrics

Power users and system administrators configure low volume of technical data (SAP users). The SAP CC Core Server system stores high volume of audit data (various types of recordings).

SAP CC System Settings

Core Database includes most of the configuration settings of the connected Core Server system. The implementation project team configures and customizes this information depending on the business requirements of the system landscape.

Recommendation

For more information about the master data and customer master data in SAP Convergent Charging, consult the SAP CC 5.0 Application Help.

Master Data

In SAP Convergent Charging, the SAP master data objects (Master Data) consist in two classes:

  • the pricing catalogs of the digital services to be monetized for each service provider modeled in SAP CC
  • the customer master data that represents the end customers of a service provider and for a particular digital service or service bundle

This back-end database contains all these master data objects. Note that no service provider is configured in the SAP CC database.

Pricing Catalogs

This back-end database contains the pricing catalogs as master data of each service provider. Depending on the business requirements and modeling results, a pricing catalog relates to a particular digital service or to a bundle of services to be monetized. The service provider offering the marketable services is the owner of this master data.

Customer Master Data (in High Volume)

This back-end database contains the customer master data of each service provider modeled in the SAP CC system. The customer master data is assigned to a pricing catalog configured in SAP CC.

The following database tables relate to end customer information:

Business Partner Management Business Agreement Management Order Capture and Contract Management

Important Note

Depending on your business requirements and modeloing results, customer master data may represent high and very high volume of data.

Business and Custom Data

This back-end database contains some business data and custom data used by the SAP CC Core Server system to configure master data or to process business operations (charging, refilling):

Business Data Custom Data

Business and custom data is defined at the SAP CC sysem level. It cannot be customized for a particular service provider. It is shared by all the pricing catalogs and by all the objects in customer master data.

Business Processing Data

This database contains some tables used to store a lot of data records resulting from the business processing by the SAP CC Core Server system:

A storage space is reserved for each type of data records: SESSION_RATING_DATA, C_SNAPSHOT_DATA, and PRERATING_DATA.

The SAP CC Core Server system updates this data frequently.

Note

Consider also the counter data and allowance data associated to a contract or subscription.

The SAP CC Core Server system updates frequently this data during charging and refilling operations. They have dedicated reserved spaces in the database.

Technical Data

This database contains some tables used to store technical data generated by the SAP CC Core Server system. It includes also the configuration of SAP CC users.

Note

Please note that the database does not contain the logs generated by the SAP CC Core Server system. This type of technical data is stored in files.
