Business Context and Use

A mapping table is a table of correspondence between an input set of values and a set of output values according to different periods of time. You can easily maintain each row individually. A mapping table can be attached to:

  • A catalog as master data related to a service provider
  • A subscriber account as master data related to end customers
Mapping tables attached to a subscriber account are named subscriber mapping tables.

The structure of a mapping table is specified by a mapping table class from the pricing catalog of the service provider.

Mapping tables attached to a catalog can be used for several end customers of the service provider. Subscriber mapping tables contain customer specific data and can be shared by the charging contracts related to the same subscriber account.

Product Modeling

Your CRM application or another provisioning system manages master data related to the modeling of commercial products. SAP CC extends this master data with pricing information to dynamically compute price amounts related to the usage of a customer service. This information is stored in a pricing catalog owned by the service provider.

CRM retrieves pricing information stored in SAP CC to combine charge plans in the definition of a commercial product. CRM can maintain or replicate some pricing data stored in SAP CC in a pricing catalog of the service provider: mapping tables and range tables .

Related Operations

You can use the following operations to perform actions on mapping tables related to a catalog:

Features

A mapping table is a business data table of correspondence for mapping an input set of values to a set of output values according to different periods of time.

Structure

A mapping table or a subscriber mapping table is a business data table defined by:

  • An identifier which is unique in the SAP CC system
  • The identifier of the related mapping table class which refers to an existing mapping table class
  • An owner or the identifier of a subscriber account:
    • The owner is the name of the catalog it relates to. The owner of a mapping table is the one defined in the related mapping table class.
    • The identifier is the identifier of the subscriber account it relates to
  • A text description which contains a human readable definition of the charging logic implemented
  • Additional information which enable to store information used by an external system but not by CC internal processes
  • A set of rows

Additionally, a mapping table may have an agreement ID and a description.

Each row of a mapping table is defined by:

  • An identifier which is unique within the mapping table. This technical identifier is used to maintain this row, but is not involved in charging processes.
  • A validity period, defined by a start date and an end date.
  • A set of columns. Each column is defined by:
    • A name that is the name of a column defined in the related mapping table class.
    • A value which is one of the following:
      • An SAP currency
      • A string
      • A number

Notes

In a mapping table each row is uniquely identified by its row identifier.

  • Changing the order of rows in a mapping table has no impact on its behavior
  • You cannot set up a mapping table with the same input values, the same start date and the same end date for two distinct rows

Prerequisites

A mapping table class must be configured in the pricing catalog of the service provider. Use the SAP CC Core Tool user interface to create this data.
