Structure of the Workload Tree of the Global Workload Monitor

Definition

The Global Workload Monitor provides you with a hierarchy in the Functions subscreen of the Workload Tree, with which you can quickly find the desired workload data. The hierarchy consists of three levels:

Hierarchy Level Description

Component type

Indicates the type of system (ABAP system or DSR component).

Component

Identifies an actual ABAP system or an actual DSR component.

Period

You can display the workload data on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. To do this, expand the desired time unit and choose the concrete period by double clicking it.

At the component level, you can also optionally use the TOTAL entry (see alsoSetting Parameters for Collecting Statistics), which displays the total workload for all components of a component type.

Structure

You can specify the component type and component for which you want to analyze the workload:

Structure Notes

<Component_type>.<SysID>

<SysID> is the ID of the ABAP system assigned to the following components of this type. If you are not dealing with an ABAP system, <<None>> is displayed.

For example, for an ABAP system, the component type is SAP R/3, for a J2EE Engine, it is SAPJ2ENode.

<Component>

Since a component can be assigned to multiple ABAP systems, the component can appear under multiple component types (grouped by assigned ABAP systems).

For ABAP systems, the components are the instances of the system.

<TOTAL>

This is a total of all components of a type; for ABAP systems, this is the system-wide total for all instances

Last Minutes' Load

You can perform an evaluation of the statistical data for a period of your choice here.

Day

<date>

Select a particular day, week, or month by double clicking it, to display the corresponding data for the selected component. If the selected component is assigned to multiple ABAP systems, the icon appears in front of the associated time units.

Only the times for which statistical data is available are displayed.

Week

<period of a week>

Month

<actual month>
