Totals-Based Migration

Use

Using totals-based migration, you do not migrate your budgeting documents. Instead, at the end of a fiscal year, you run a report that migrates only the budgeting totals from Former Budgeting to BCS.

Note Note

Migration based on totals is proposed mainly for the data of previous years. This means that data is migrated for reporting purposes only, and therefore it is sufficient to have only the budgeting totals migrated. If you need to refer to budget entry documents of previous years, you can access the Former Budgeting functionality and check the data there.

End of the note.

Prerequisites

BCS must be activated before the migration run.

Procedure

  1. In order to migrate your budgeting totals, first read the program documentation and then carry out the relevant migration activities in Start of the navigation path Funds Management Government Next navigation step Budget Control System (BCS) Next navigation step Budgeting Next navigation step Migration of Former Budgeting to BCS. End of the navigation path

  2. In the same menu path, carry out the IMG activity Migrate Budget Totals . This program (transaction FMKUMIGTOT) is fully documented online and guides you through all migration steps.

    Caution Caution

Note that if you run totals-based migration, the corresponding migration data (fund, fiscal year and version) will automatically be deleted in the first step, before migration is done in the second step.

    End of the caution.

Result
