Reassignment Process Flow
This document describes the general process flow for the reassignment. For more detailed information about the process flow of the reassignment for the individual object types, see Object Type: FM Document with FI Reference and Object Type: Fixed Asset.
Before you create a reorganization plan, you have to ensure that the prerequisites for the reorganization are met and that you have made the basic settings in Customizing.
For you to be able to use the reorganization, the following criteria must be met:
The organizational and system prerequisites that must be met before you can start the reorganization are described in the section Prerequisites and Customizing.
For the reorganization of fixed assets, there are additional, more far-reaching prerequisites. For more information, see Object Type: Fixed Asset.
The posting date is taken from the leading ledger. All ledgers that update the account assignment are updated.
The reorganization is available as a Web application in the portal and as an application in the NetWeaver Business Client.
To use the reorganization in the portal, you need to install the business package BP for Reorganization Management
(BPERPREORG
). This business package does not contain any predefined roles; instead, it is only intended for reuse. To simplify the administrator's task of evaluating the content, the worksets of this business package are connected by delta links to work center pool role 1.5 of the Business Package for Common Parts. However, you can define your own roles (such as reorganization manager and object owner). You can then use the worksets of business package BP for Reorganization Management in your own roles:

For more information on the business package, see Business Package for Reorganization Management 1.50.
For use of the reorganization in the NetWeaver Business Client, there are PFCG roles built in the same way:
For the reorganization manager: SAP_FI_GL_REORG_MANAGER
For the reorganization owner: SAP_FI_GL_REORG_OBJLIST_OWNER
The reorganization manager and the object owners proceed as follows:
Reorganization manager creates a reorganization plan:
The reorganization manager creates a reorganization plan with plan type 002
(FM reassignment) for the relevant FM area and the new fiscal year (reorganization date).
Budget manager(s) start commitment carryforward with reassignment:
Then the budget managers start the fiscal year change (commitment carryforward) in Funds Management (FM), as usual. If one of the FM account assignments that are updated and split in new General Ledger Accounting is reassigned in this process, the document splitting information for the related FI documents is adjusted automatically in new General Ledger Accounting. This ensures that follow-on documents (such as payments) of the reassigned documents in FM automatically contain the new FM account assignments.
The reorganization manager checks the results of the commitment carryforward in the reorganization plan:
Documents: In the Object List
area, you find the individual documents affected beneath the relevant object type. You can use the symbol in the Details
column to display any other relevant documents.
Detailed information on the documents: For detailed information on the individual documents (for example, balances, related G/L accounts, or ledgers), see the documentation in the Transfer Posting
area beneath the object list under Transfer Posting
.
Account assignment information: If the account assignment for a document has changed, you find the old and new account assignment in the assignment table in the General Restrictions
area. This information may be applied later to generate object lists for fixed assets.
Note that additional items without a changed account assignment (that is, the old account assignment is identical to the new account assignment) are created. This ensures that you are able to exclude individual fixed assets from the reassignment (status 60 (Not Included in Reorganization
)).
The reorganization manager generates the object list for fixed assets (optional)
If fixed assets should be reorganized, the reorganization manager can generate, from within the reorganization plan, the object list containing the fixed assets affected by the reassignment. This object list is generated on the basis of the entries in the tab pages for the general and specific restrictions.
It may be necessary for the reorganization manager to make additional assignments from old and new account assignments in the reorganization plan.
The reorganization manager assigns the fixed assets to the object owners (optional)
As soon as the reorganization manager sets the status of an object to Allocated to Object Owner
, the object appears in the object list of the relevant object owner.
The object owner processes the object list for fixed assets (optional)
The object owner decides which fixed assets are included in the reorganization and selects the new recipient account assignments.
The object owner then sets the object status to Approved for Further Processing
.
From within the reorganization plan, the reorganization manager executes the reassignment and the transfer postings for fixed assets (optional).
The system automatically transfers the APC values for fixed assets that already have APC values. The result of the reassignment and of the transfer postings can be monitored in the object list.
From within the reorganization plan, the reorganization manager starts the transfer of the affected balances in new General Ledger Accounting.
The result of the transfer postings is visible in the object list. Once the transfer posting has been made successfully, the system sets the status of the object to Reorganized Successfully
.
The system logs all affected objects, their old and new account assignments, as well as the relevant object owners.
The system also logs the transferred balances for each object. You can use separate consolidation transaction types to trace the transferred balances in the summary reports in new General Ledger Accounting.
Finally, the reorganization manager sets the status of the reorganization plan to Closed
.
Most of the steps are repeated multiple times. In this way, you do not need to wait until the commitment carryforward to the new fiscal year is complete before you start the transfer postings in FI. You can make transfer postings multiple times. This step only transfers balances that have not already been transferred in a previous run.
Note that you can create only one reorganization plan per year.
The reassignment is complete. From now on, the system makes postings using the new account assignments.
