Synchronizing a Routing with a Manufacturing BOM
After you have assigned the planning-relevant elements of your product structure completely to operations, you can create a manufacturing BOM. The system transfers the elements that you have assigned to the operations to a manufacturing BOM.
If you repeat the synchronization in the same planning scope for a new planning, for example with new assignments, the system transfers the new elements of the new assignments to the manufacturing BOM.
In the General Data
under Assignments Routing to Material BOM
, you have specified a manufacturing BOM header for every routing, namely withMaterial, Plant, Alternative, Use, Change Number
(see Determination of Material BOM for Synchronization).
You have created materials for all product structure elements that you have assigned to operations and that you want to transfer to a manufacturing BOM.
The system creates a manufacturing BOM in the background while synchronizing
and assigns the BOM items of the manufacturing BOM to the routing operations.
If you select the Display All Manufacturing BOM Items
checkbox in the user settings, the system also displays all BOM items of the manufacturing BOM under the BOM header. As a result, you can also display manufacturing BOM items that you added manually after the synchronization and which are not assigned to an operation (see Editing of User Settings).
If you change the manufacturing BOM manually after the synchronization, the system generates a conflict during the next synchronization. A standard solution is intended for every conflict. You can display solutions in the back-end system in the application log (transaction SLG1) (see Analyze Logs).
Choose the object PLM_GSS
as well as the associated subobject PLM_GSSS2B
. Enter a time period during which you have synchronized. The system ouputs a list of conflicts that occurred, categorized as error, warning, or information.
Using Reconcile
, you can remove planning level elements that are no longer in the planning level because you have changed the product structure, for example.
For more information, see Guided Structure Synchronization (PLM-WUI-GSS).
