Maintaining the Standard Network

Use

In assembly processing in the Project System, you use a standard network as a template to generate a network when you create a sales document item for the relevant material.

Procedure

You do not have to make any specific settings for assembly processing in the standard network. However if you want to create a work breakdown structure during assembly processing, you have to assign the standard network to a standard work breakdown structure. You do this in the header of the standard network. You can also assign individual activities to standard WBS elements.

Assigning Standard Network Headers to Standard WBS Elements

  1. Choose Start of the navigation path Logistics Next navigation step Project Next navigation step management Next navigation step Basic data End of the navigation path and then Start of the navigation path Standard structures Next navigation step Standard Next navigation step network Next navigation step Change End of the navigation path .

  2. Enter the number of the standard network on the initial screen and then choose Start of the navigation path Details Next navigation step Std. network header End of the navigation path .

  3. Enter a standard WBS element.

  4. Save the standard network.

Assigning Standard Network Activities to Standard WBS Elements

  1. Choose Start of the navigation path Logistics Next navigation step Project Next navigation step management Next navigation step Basic data End of the navigation path and then Start of the navigation path Standard structures Next navigation step Standard Next navigation step network Next navigation step Change End of the navigation path .

  2. Enter the number of the standard network on the initial screen and then choose Enter.

  3. On the activity overview, change the standard WBS element. (The default is the element you entered in the header, as above.)

  4. Save the standard network.

You can do also do this on the individual activity detail screens.

You can decide in the standard WBS whether the system creates on structure for each item or one structure for the whole sales document. For more information, see Creating one WBS for Each Sales Document Item

Numbers for Standard WBS

Since the system determines the number of the WBS from the sales document, the standard WBS number should be longer than 10 characters, unless you are using editing masks, which we recommend.
