What Is the Difference Between a Version and a Scenario?

What is it? |
A set of key figures that represent a particular plan. Versions are valid for and used by the whole company, or departments of a company, and are visible to all end users who have the necessary authorizations. Different versions can have different key figure data. For example, the sales forecast might be 100 in an upside version, but only 50 in a downside version. |
A saved simulation on the planning data to see the effects of changes the user makes in the planning views in the SAP IBP, add-in for Microsoft Excel. Scenarios are used to simulate how the user's changes in the key figure data affect other parts of the plan. The user can create what-if simulations to see how certain changes to the planning data affect the overall plan. They can save the new plan as a scenario. The key figure data in the database isn't changed, but the user can save this new plan for future reference and sharing with other users. |
