User Interface: Handover From Engineering BOM Planner Page

The user interface of the Handover From Engineering BOM Planner page has a header section and two panels (Source and Target).

Header Section

The header section is enriched with the following details:
  • Switch to a different planning mode.

  • Statuses of the handover, such as In Progress, Published, Released, and Locked. For more information, see Handover Statuses.

  • BOM information for both the source and target structures that are categorically aligned for usability as follows:

    Description

    Routing Mode

    Switch to the routing planning page.

    Edit

    Locks handover for editing. You can make any changes in the Source Panel or Target Panel. The system auto-saves the changes.

    Customize

    Navigate to the Handover Activity details page.

    Unlock

    Unlocks the handover.

    Publish to ERP System

    Save the planned MBOM information to the ERP system (SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition, SAP S/4HANA, SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition, or SAP ERP).

    Release

    Freeze the planned target MBOM from any further changes. You cannot make any changes to the target MBOM that is in the Released status.

    View synchronization messages from the external source systems (SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition, SAP S/4HANA, SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition, or SAP ERP).

    The View Task Monitoring button navigates you to the Task Monitoring application, where you can see the success, failure, and completion status of all tasks.

    View a list of icons with the description used on the Handover From Engineering BOM Planner page. For more information, see Legend.

    (Display Log)

    View the user actions that were recorded while planning a target in the MBOM mode or Routing mode. For more information, see Display Log.

Panels

The two panels are Source and Target. The BOMs are displayed in an hierarchical tree structure in the panels and enabled with hyperlinks. See Navigation to SAP S/4HANA Cloud Apps

Each panel contains standard icons to control the display and to perform actions. You can resize any of the panels to fill the display area. The panels cannot be closed.

Search

The free text search option allows you to filter the nodes in the Source and Target panels. The text can completely or partially match the data displayed in the hierarchy.

3D

Allows you to view the 3D design data in the MBOM mode.

(Show Thumbnails/Hide Thumbnails)

To view or hide the thumbnails in the Source and Target panels.

Filter By

You can filter the rows in the panels using the following filter options:
  • Show All (default)

  • Planned

  • Unplanned

  • Consumed

  • Overconsumed

  • Underconsumed

  • Change Discrepancy

Source

The Source panel contains the source EBOM that is loaded from the external source system (SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition, SAP S/4HANA, SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition, or SAP ERP). You can view the source EBOM as a multilevel hierarchical structure. From here, you can make your selections for planning and transferring the components to the Target panel.

Combo box with options

Select your option as follows:

  • (Plan as Selected)

    Moves the selected assemblies or components from the Source to the Target .

  • (Plan as Designed)

    Makes a direct copy of the selected engineering BOM from the source to the target manufacturing BOM.

Explode BOM

You can use the Explode BOM button to view all components and sub-assemblies under a BOM. You can also select the row for which you want to explode the BOM.

Expand One Level

Allows you to expand the selected BOM or sub-assemblies to view all the sub-assemblies and components under them, up to one level of hierarchy.

Choose Alternative

Allows you to expand the desired alternative of the selected sub-assembly. You can view the sub-assemblies and components under the selected sub-assembly up to one level of hierarchy.

(Enter Full-screen) and (Exit Full-screen)

Resize the panel to full screen or to exit full screen.

(Settings)

Select the information to be displayed in columns for the multilevel hierarchical structure.

(Move Nodes to Target).

Move the selected components or assemblies from the Source to the Target.

Target

The Target panel is where you plan your MBOM and publish it to the ERP system (SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition, SAP S/4HANA, SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition, or SAP ERP). To add the components or assemblies to the Target Panel, you can either drag and drop, move the selected nodes, or choose Plan as Designed . You can view the target MBOM as a multilevel hierarchical structure. From here, you can make your selections for planning by adding or removing components, or editing BOM attributes before publishing to the ERP system (SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition, SAP S/4HANA, SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition, or SAP ERP).

Add

You can use the Add button to include new components and products in the target MBOM.

Add Component

You can add ad-hoc components to the target MBOM that do not exist in the source EBOM. These components are known as manufacturing consumables.

You can search for more than one material and add them in a single session.

Add Product

You can add ad-hoc products or items to the target MBOM that don't exist in the source EBOM. After you select Add Product, enter the following product and BOM item details for the new product:

    • Description

    • Unit of Measure

    • Material Type

    • Long Description

    • Is Configurable

  • BOM Item Details

    • Item category

    • Quantity

    • Unit of Measure

Add Text Item

Add text to the sub-assembly planned in the Target BOM.

Convert the item category of stock item components or assemblies into variable-size item categories.
