Connecting to SAP Datasphere Systems

You can connect an SAP Datasphere system to the catalog automatically by adding it to an SAP Business Data Cloud formation. If you use a standalone SAP Datasphere setup, you can connect the system manually to the catalog. The catalog monitors the connected system for new, updated, and deleted objects and updates the associated asset in the catalog.

Automatic Connections to the Catalog

SAP Datasphere systems that are part of SAP Business Data Cloud formations are automatically connected to the catalog. You can use the SAP Business Data Cloud cockpit system to access the Metadata Extractions page. Under the Assets and Data Products group, you'll see one row for the SAP Datasphere system. This row has two entries.
  • The first entry shows the system properties for an assets-only system.

  • The second entry shows the source system properties for a data products-only system.

Manual Connections to the Catalog

In a standalone SAP Datasphere setup, the local and external SAP Datasphere systems must be manually connected to the catalog. All external systems must belong to the same landscape (or data center region).
