Delimiting Organizational Units

Prerequisites

Delimit organizational units if you want to change their validity periods, so that the end date occurs sooner than stated. This may be necessary, for example, if you plan to remove an organizational unit at a particular point in time because your enterprise is restructured.

Procedure


  1. On the Change Organizational Structure screen, choose the organizational unit you want to delimit.

  2. Select Start of the navigation pathEdit Next navigation step Delimit Next navigation step ObjectEnd of the navigation path.

    The Delimit Object dialog box appears.

  3. Choose Delimit Date.

    The Delimit Object dialog box appears.

  4. Enter the new end date.

  5. Choose Continue.

  6. Choose Delimit.

Results

The system delimits the object and the validity period. You can see the changed dates using Start of the navigation pathView Next navigation step Object PeriodEnd of the navigation path or Relationship Period on the right of the tree structure.
