Procedure

Deactivating All Servers for SQL Monitoring

  1. Open the SQL Monitor tool using transaction code SQLM (/SDF/ZQLM for ST-PI version).
  2. To deactivate all servers, click the Deactivate button or choose the corresponding menu item Start of the navigation pathSQL Monitor Next navigation step DeactivateEnd of the navigation path.

Verifying the Server Activation Status

  1. To get the server status, choose the menu item Start of the navigation pathSQL Monitor Next navigation step Display Server DetailsEnd of the navigation path or click the corresponding Servers button in the toolbar. As a result, a list with all servers of the system is displayed, including the status information.

  2. Verify whether for each sever the Actual State matches the value of Expected State. Any inconsistency can have two reasons:
    • The respective server is currently down.
    • Due to high server load, the respective server cannot be reached.
  3. [Optional -] In the case of inconsistency, you have the option of ensuring server state consistency by choosing the menu item Start of the navigation pathSQL Monitor Next navigation step  Server State Next navigation step EnsureEnd of the navigation path. Alternatively, you can log on to the server with an inconsistent state and deactivate the server again.

Results

You have switched off the SQL monitoring on all servers and deleted all SQL Monitor recordings that exist in the current system. By doing this, you have reset the system to the initial state it had before switching on the SQL Monitor.
