Deleting SQL Monitor Data
Prerequisites
- You need the authorization profile to perform SQL Monitor administration tasks.
- If you are going to delete all the SQL Monitor results, ensure that SQL monitoring is switched off in the system. If you have not already done so, deactivate the monitoring function for all servers in the system. (Click the Deactivate button in the initial screen.)
Context
You can manually trigger the deletion of the SQL Monitor data in two different ways. You can...
- Delete all collected SQL Monitor results that exist in the current system (common use case).
The following two situations are typical for when it might be necessary for you to delete all collected SQL Monitor data in the system:
- You have finished your monitoring activities and do not need the data any more.
- You want to restart the SQL Monitor from scratch (for example, after correction of great number of SQL issues) and get an up-to-date SQL profile of your business activities.
- Delete the SQL Monitor results that belong to a time series (rare use case).
With this option, you can clean up old SQL Monitor time series data that is no longer valid. Thus you delete the time series results of monitoring from a specific date backwards and remove them from the history.
Target Audience
- AS ABAP system administrators (deleting all data)
- ABAP developers (deleting time series data)
