Use

If the Balance load indicator is selected in Customizing for the Bulk Shipment Type , the material quantities which have been loaded must be assigned to the underlying documents. When the Balance load indicator is selected, the system proposes the loaded quantity as the discharge quantity during the delivery confirmation process. Balance loading is also a prerequisite for other processes, such as Rapid Delivery Confirmation .

Two types of balance loading exist, and the method used depends on the way in which the compartments have been loaded, which in turn is determined by the compartment load indicator. However, when you are required to perform balance loading, only the relevant method for balance loading is available.

Balance Documents

You set the Compartment load indicator in Customizing for the bulk shipment type to allow only one underlying document per compartment. In this case, the process of balancing documents must be carried out. The process of balancing documents assigns underlying documents to the loaded quantities. The materials and quantities are allocated to the documents at the compartment level.

Balance Quantities

When multiple documents or multiple materials are allowed for the bulk shipment type, the process of balance quantities must occur before the load can be confirmed. Unlike the balance documents process, within balance quantities the quantities allocated to a particular document or document item can be changed or split between several compartments.

At the balance loading stage, you also have the option of allocating and deallocating documents.
