You can execute the accounting for CIAP records in two ways:
For a single record, through the CIAP_REPORT
transaction.
For several records, through the CIAP_ACCOUNTING
transaction.
The report searches for all CIAP records that are relevant for creating quotas, for example, status set to IM (Fixing of individual asset)
or CI (Fixing in progress completed - Resulting asset)
, and still have quotas to be credited. After that, the report creates the quotas and posts the values to the respective G/L accounts.
For more information, see CIAP Record Quotas.
To create quotas and post their values to G/L accounts, you must enter a company code or a combination of company code and business place. The accounting period is always the previous month of the posting date.
The system executes the accounting of the CIAP records.
If there are records with errors, the system doesn't execute the accounting for any of the records.
After correcting the errors, run the accounting manually using the Display CIAP Records Data report.
The system posts the quotas values to the G/L accounts you have defined (see Prerequisites).
The system outputs an accounting document (as mass accounting type) with all posted records.
The system also flags the Credited
field of the Define Credit Factor
report to inform that the specific period has already been credited for the specified company code and business place.
Note
Record quotas with "IA" status are reported to the SPED EFD ICMS/IPI report without the FI posting.

Below you find examples of running accounting for CIAP records.
Scenario 1:
Let us suppose that you have set in the Define Financial Account Information customizing the short term account as the main posting of ICMS value. You have created a record with 48 quotas in which the ICMS value is equal to BRL 1,00.
When you run the CIAP accounting through the CIAP_ACCOUNTING
transaction, the system calculates the following information:
Transaction | Process | Credit/Debit | G/L Account Type | ICMS Value |
| Invoice Receipt | D | ICMS Short Term Account | 48,00 |
C | Asset | 48,00 | ||
| Reclassification | D | ICMS Long Term Account | 36,00 |
C | ICMS Short Term Account | 36,00
Credit Quota | D | ICMS to Pay Account | 0,90
D | Expenses/Original Account | 0,10
C | ICMS Short Term Account | 1,00
Reclassification | C | ICMS Long Term Account | 1,00
D | ICMS Short Term Account | 1,00 |
The calculation results in an accounting document, which the G/L accounting postings are the following:
Credit/Debit | G/L Account Type | Value |
D | ICMS to Pay Account | 0,90 |
D | Expenses/Original Account | 0,10 |
C | ICMS Short Term Account | 36,00 |
D | ICMS Long Term Account | 35,00 |
Scenario 2:
Let us suppose that you have set the CIAP_C_ACCOUNT
Customizing to consider the Long Term account as the main posting of ICMS value. You have created 48 quotas in which the ICMS value is equal to 1,00.
When you run the CIAP accounting through the CIAP_ACCOUNTING
transaction, the system calculates the following information:
Transaction | Process | Credit/Debit | G/L Account Type | ICMS Value |

C | Asset | 48,00 | ||
| Reclassification | C | ICMS Long Term Account | 12,00 |

Credit Quota | D | ICMS to Pay Account | 0,90
D | Expenses/Original Account | 0,10
C | ICMS Short Term Account | 1,00
Reclassification | C | ICMS Long Term Account | 1,00
D | ICMS Short Term Account | 1,00 |
Then, the consolidation of the accounting postings is the following:
Credit/Debit | G/L Account Type | Value |
D | ICMS to Pay Account | 0,90 |
D | Expenses/Original Account | 0,10 |
C | ICMS Short Term Account | 36,00 |
D | ICMS Long Term Account | 35,00 |
From the second quota on, the accounting is the following:
Process | Credit/Debit | G/L Account Type | Value |
Credit quota ( | D | ICMS to Pay Account | 0,90 |
D | Expenses/Original Account | 0,10
C | ICMS Short Term Account | 1,00
Reclassification ( | C | ICMS Long Term Account | 1,00 |
D | ICMS Short Term Account | 1,00 |
The consolidated accounting postings are the following:
Credit/Debit | G/L Account Type | Value |
D | ICMS to Pay Account | 0,90 |
D | Expenses/Original Account | 0,10 |
C | ICMS Short Term Account | 36,00 |
Scenario 3:
Let us suppose that you have retired the record that was created above by using the Manual Retirement functionality, after taking credit of the second quota. The remaining balance is posted to the G/L account set in the Balance Account field of the CIAP_C_ACCOUNT
customizing. The accounting process will execute the following calculation:
Process | Credit/Debit | G/L Account Type | Value |
( | N/A | N/A | N/A |
Reclassification ( | C | ICMS Long Term Account | 33,00 |
D | ICMS Short Term Account | 33,00
Retirement ( | D | Balance Account | 46,00 |
C | ICMS Short Term Account | 46,00 |
The consolidated accounting posting is the following:
Credit/Debit | G/L Account Type | Value |
C | ICMS Long Term Account | 33,00 |
C | ICMS Short Term Account | 13,00 |
D | Balance Account | 46,00 |

In this list, you can find all the document items created for accounting in mass and for single accounting processes. In addition, the report also displays the FI accounting documents that have been created.
