This documentation summarizes administration tasks in the SAP update system.

Configuration

The update system is configured in profile parameters. Normally the default values are appropriate for running updates, but it may be necessary to change some parameters.

Authorizations

The following authorization steps are required for the update system. They are defined in authorization object S_ADMI_FCD (domain XUFUNCTION in the ABAP Dictionary).

Administration with restrictions: Administrators can manage update records, but cannot deactivate and reactivate the update system.
