Changing Profile Parameters Dynamically

Context

You can monitor and change profile parameters that are relevant for the update task.

Many parameters can be switched dynamically, and can be changed while the system is running (also in transaction RZ11); others must be modified in the profile and do not take effect until the system is restarted.

Procedure

  1. In update management (transaction SM13) choose Administration of Update System, or go directly to transaction SM14.
  2. Choose the Parameters tab page.
  3. Make the changes you want.

    You have the following options:

    • Change the parameters on a white background dynamically Write the value you need in the new value field, select the parameter and choose Change.

    • Set a parameter to the default value (provided that parameter can be switched dynamically) Select a parameter and choose Default Value.

    • Display the documentation for the parameter: Select the parameter and choose Documentation. (This is the documentation that is available for all parameters in transaction RZ11.)
