Saving Files
Use
You can save (export/convert) 2D and 3D files to a number of supported file formats. You can establish various settings when saving files depending on the type of file in which you select to save (the output format).
When you begin saving a file, a Save window displays, and if the file contains export properties, you can modify those properties and apply them to the file. For example, if you save a file to the .jpeg format, you can determine the quality of the saved file. If you save a file to the .rh format, you can save keyframe animation, normals, skins, and smoothing. Once you have modified the export properties for a particular file format, those settings are applied to any file of the same format when it is saved.
The Save window tabs and options differ depending on the selected output format. However, many tabs and options are identical across different file formats. The shared settings are described in the individual tab topics (Animation, Geometry Transform, Materials, and Texture Maps). Any unique settings are described in the file format topics located within the Supported File Formats section.
For .rh files, a file validation process occurs as part of the save. If any inconsistencies are encountered during file validation, a confirmation window displays. If you continue saving the file, it is automatically repaired. If you do not wish to continue, the save is cancelled.
You can also publish files to HTML using various templates and then view them in detail in your browser
Note that while the Save window is used to save to most file formats, the Vector Illustration tool can be used to save files to a number of additional formats including .ai, .cgm, .eps, and .swf. Certain formats can be saved using both methods, such as .dxf.
