Assembly Explosion Type

Determines how to use a different BOM explosion to control the version of subcomponents that are loaded.

VDS shattered means that each part and assembly is stored as a separate file that is combined dynamically at viewing time. Assembly and subassemblies reference other files that contain the geometry rather than storing an own copy. For minor changes, it’s possible to visualize the change without the need to reprocess an entire assembly. This function works by performing a BOM explosion to select the files that make up the entire scene and constructing the viewable at runtime.
