Determination of Discount Conditions in Contracts

Use

This function is used to instruct the system to determine discount conditions.

Integration

If you have recorded discount conditions in condition records, these are determined automatically by the system when you perform the following functions:

  • Create and change contracts

  • Contract determination

    • Create and change sales documents

    • Bill sales documents

  • Create interim and final settlements

Prerequisites

Contract customers are to be granted discount conditions automatically when the agreed advertising services are sold.

You have made all the relevant settings in Customizing, recorded discount conditions for contracts in condition records and created contracts.

Features

The discount conditions that a media customer is granted are dependent on the contracts that have been created for this customer:

  • If a standard contract has been created for a media customer, this customer is granted the discount conditions that can be granted according to fulfillment and discount/price adjustment .

  • If standard contracts, customer bonus contracts scale base contracts and/or media-mix contracts have been created for a media customer, this customer is granted the discount conditions that can be granted according to the conflict control, condition exclusion rule , fulfillment and discount/price adjustment .

Fulfillment and discount/price adjustment have the following implications for the determination of discount conditions:

Prerequisite

Grant discount conditions

The target agreement is not fulfilled.

The media customer is granted conditions that were determined by the system during contract creation in the order and in an interim settlement . It is assumed that the media customer will sell the agreed target number by the end of the contract validity period. The conditions determined are retained in the contract.

During final settlement , the media customer is granted conditions that apply to a smaller number of advertising services sold. The system creates a debit memo.

The target agreement is over-fulfilled and the No discount/price adjustment indicator has been selected in the contract.

The media customer is granted conditions that were determined by the system during contract creation in the order .

During interim or final settlement , the media customer is granted conditions that apply to a larger number of advertising services sold. The system creates a credit memo. Conditions are not entered in the contract and are not adjusted during the contract validity period.

The target agreement is over-fulfilled and the Automatic discount/price adjustment in the order indicator has been selected in the contract.

The media customer is granted conditions that apply to a larger number of advertising services sold in the order and for each interim settlement. The media customer reaches a more favorable scale value. The system adjusts the conditions in the contract.

During final settlement , the media customer is granted conditions that apply to a larger number of advertising services sold. If additional advertising services have been sold since the last interim settlement and a more favorable scale value has been reached, the system creates a credit memo. If no advertising services have been sold since the last interim settlement, the system creates a settlement with a difference amount of 0.

The target agreement is over-fulfilled and the Discount/price adjustment for interim settlement indicator has been selected in the contract.

The media customer is granted conditions that were determined by the system during contract creation in the order .

During interim settlement , the media customer is granted conditions that apply to a larger number of advertising services sold. The media customer reaches a more favorable scale value. The system adjusts the conditions in the contract. Following interim settlement, the media customer is granted conditions in the order that have been entered in the contract.

During final settlement , the media customer is granted conditions that apply to a larger number of advertising services sold. If additional advertising services have been sold since the last interim settlement and a higher scale value has been reached, the system creates a credit memo. If no advertising services have been sold since the last interim settlement, the system creates a settlement with a difference amount of 0.

The target agreement is over-fulfilled and the No over-fulfillment indicator has been selected in the contract.

No advertising services have been assigned to the contract that lead to the agreed target number to be sold being exceeded.

If you want the system to check whether one of several billing datasets means that a contract is over-fulfilled, you must select the Discount change affects all billing datasets indicator. This indicator can mean that billing datasets in a document item are only assigned to a contract if they are required for contract fulfillment. The remaining billing datasets for the same document item are not assigned to this contract.

Note Note

If a target agreement is over-fulfilled, the media customer is granted discount conditions that apply to larger numbers of advertising sales. The point at which the media customer is granted more favorable conditions depends on the way in which you have defined discount/price adjustment in the contract for this customer.
