Higher-Level Waste Management Business Partner

Definition

Waste management business partner that is above another waste management business partner in the hierarchy in the master data .

Use

By specifying a higher-level waste management business partner, you can position a waste management business partner in the overview tree and thus establish a hierarchy.

In some places, data for the higher-level waste management business partner is used if the corresponding data for a waste management business partner does not exist (see the Integration section). This makes it easier to enter data, since you only have to enter data that applies to all waste management business partners in a hierarchy for the top-level waste management business partner in the hierarchy.

Integration

The following functions use data from the higher-level waste management business partners if the corresponding data for a waste management business partner has not been entered:

  • If a waste management business partner has been manually or automatically assigned to a waste approval and the system cannot determine a regional or transregional authority-assigned number for this partner, it attempts to determine the corresponding authority-assigned number from the data for a higher-level waste management business partner (see Automatic Partner Assignment ). If possible, the system uses this number for the waste management business partner that was originally assigned and also assigns the higher-level waste management business partner to the waste approval.

  • In the SAP disposal processing component, you can use the input help(Hierarchical) Search for Disposers from Disposal Channels when you assign partners to entry documents . You can use this input help to select waste disposers from disposal channels that contain the waste and waste generator specified in the entry document. If no such disposal channel exists, the system proposes the waste disposers from the disposal channels for the higher-level waste generators, provided that these disposal channels contain the waste specified in the entry document.

    Example Example

    If an authority in Germany has assigned a generator number for a plant , you can create a waste management business partner with the Waste generator role for the plant with the generator number and enter, for example, the possible disposal channels for this waste management business partner. If you then insert the waste management business partners that you created in the plant for internal points of generationbelow this waste management business partner, you no longer need to explicitly enter the disposal channels for these waste management business partners. When you choose the input help described, the system displays possible disposers from the disposal channels for the plant for you to choose from in disposal processing .
