Phrase ImportYou use this function to import the following data into the SAP system:
Phrase library
Phrase groups
Phrases
Phrase references
Assignments to phrase sets
The importing of individual languages is supported. Engineering change management is also available for phrase import.
When importing phrases, you can use the following functions:
The SAP system checks whether the data from the transfer file can be transferred correctly and determines all the phrases to be changed and created in the SAP system (see File Check During the Phrase Import).
A log is created for checking the file, with which you can determine any errors made. The SAP system compares phrase keys and the phrase text between the transfer file and the SAP system
Results of the comparison | Import behavior |
|---|---|
A phrase key from the transfer file was not found in the SAP system. | The phrase is created with all the specified languages during the import. |
Both the phrase key and phrase text are identical. | The phrase is not exported. |
The phrase key is identical, but the phrase text is different in the languages to be imported. | You can use transfer parameters to control whether the phrase is to be imported with or without engineering change management. |

.
Whether the assignments of phrases to phrase sets are transferred
Note
If the import file for a passive phrase library import contains assignments to phrase sets, these assignments will not be imported for the passive phrase library. However, if phrase references exist for the active phrase library (for example, due to the passive phrase library being merged with the active phrase library) and the Assignment to Phrase Set
indicator is set, the active phrase assigned to the passive phrase is assigned to the specified phrase set.
