Import and ExportSAP component Basic Data and Tools
supports first database as well as data import and export in productive systems. You can transfer data between the following system configurations:
Between two SAP systems
Between an SAP system and an external system
You can import and export the following data:

Specifications (including dangerous goods data)

Reports (Inbound Documents (IBD)
Example
You can export phrases in the original language, translate them in an external system, and then import them to the SAP system.
You use exchange profiles to define the transfer parameters used to control data exchange.
For specification export, you can use phrase references in the legally valid phrase library to adapt your current phrase library that you use for substance characteristic value assignment so that the exported substance characteristic values correspond to the legal requirements of the EU, for example.
For specification import, on the other hand, the SAP system enables you to merge imported passive phrases from the value assignment into the active phrase library.

For the import, copy the exchange file, which you have either created yourself or generated by means of an export, to any directory on your PC.
Upload the exchange file from the directory on your PC to the application server.

You import the exchange file from the application server into SAP component Basic Data and Tools
.
For the export, first select the data you want to export from SAP component Basic Data and Tools
and then start the export from the component into a file on the application server.
You download the exchange file from the application server to the directory on your PC.
