Assigning Storage Categories to Content Repositories

Procedure

If you created the Content Repositories on the Application Server ABAP and the corresponding

Content Repositories on the SAP Content Server manually, you need to assign the storage categories to these manually-created repositories in this final step.

The storage category is an attribute of info objects in SAP KW. Assigning storage categories to content repositories enables you to control where info objects are stored.

  1. Call the transaction OACT.

Assign the storage categories IWB0, IWB1, IWB1SRC, IWB2, IWB2SRC, KWNET,and QMM, to the HTTP content repositories you defined by making the following entries in the Content Repository field:

    Category

    Description

    DocArea

    Content rep.

    IWB0

    Administration

    IWBMISC

    Z_<SID>_IWBMISC

    IWB1

    Documentation

    IWBHELP

    Z_<SID>_IWBHELP

    IWB1SRC

    Documentation: Source format

    IWBHELP

    Z_<SID>_IWBHELP

    IWB2

    Training

    IWBTRAIN

    Z_<SID>_IWBTRAIN

    IWB2SRC

    Training: Source format

    IWBTRAIN

    Z_<SID>_IWBTRAIN

    KWNET

    HTML-based Documents

    KWNET

    Z_<SID>_ KWNET

    QMM

    QM Manual

    QM_MANUAL

    Z_<SID>_ QMMANUAL

    Whereby:

    Category

    Name of storage category

    Description

    Short text of storage category

    DocArea

Document area to which the storage category belongs

    Content Repository

    Name of a content repository

Assign the storage categories IWB1 and IWB1SRC to the repository that you defined for contents in the Documentation area, IWB2 and IWB2SRC to the repository for contents in the Training area, IWB0 to the repository for contents in the Management area, KWNET to the repository for contents in the HTML-Based Documents area, and QMM to the repository for contents in the QM Manuals area.

  2. Save your entries.

Result

The manual configuration steps for content storage are now complete. You can check the status of the content server (more information: Checking the Status of the SAP Content Server) and of individual repositories (more information: Checking Content Repositories).

Example

You have created a content repository IWBTRAIN where you want to store training documents in both editing format and presentation format.

You assign the storage categories IWB2 and IWB2SRC to the content repository IWBTRAIN as follows:

Category Description DocArea Content Repository

IWB2 Training IWBTRAIN Z_B4K_IWBTRAIN

Category Description DocArea Content Repository

IWB2SRC Training: Source format IWBTRAIN Z_B4K_IWBTRAIN

All info objects from the storage categories IWB2 and IWB2SRC are then stored in the repository Z_B4K_IWBTRAIN.
