Inserting New Multimedia Objects

Prerequisite

You are in the Change Structure screen.

Procedure

If you have selected the option structure editor (with drag and drop), proceed as follows:

  1. Proceed as described under Inserting New Content Objects:

  2. The difference is in the assignment of files to Info Object Classes. Due to the selected file format of the source file (DOC / PowerPoint / VSD), Multimedia object is proposed as Info Object Class.

    If you do not want to generate a display format for Word, PowerPoint or Visio objects, you can change the proposal of the Info Object Class using the button with the same name.

  3. When maintaining attributes, the title of multimedia objects must be entered. For content objects, it is determined from the file.

If you have selected the option structure editor (classic), proceed as follows:

  1. Position the cursor where the new multimedia object should be inserted.

  2. Choose Start of the navigation pathInfo Object Next navigation step Insert Next navigation step At Same LevelEnd of the navigation path or As Subnode.

  3. The Insert Info Object dialog box appears.

  4. Choose Create New Info Object.

The Info Object Class dialog box appears:

  1. Choose the Info Object Class Multimedia Object.

  2. The Select Source Object dialog box appears.

  3. Go to the directory containing the multimedia object.

  4. Choose the object and choose Open.

  5. The dialog box Create Content Object appears.

  6. Enter the required data.

  7. Save the structure.

Result

The multimedia object was created and inserted in the structure as a new node.
