Inserting New Content Objects

Use

You can create content objects and insert them in the structure.

Prerequisites

You are in the Change Structure screen.

Procedure

If you have selected the option structure editor (with drag and drop), proceed as follows:

  1. Select the required file in the Explorer and drag it to the required position in the structure using drag and drop.

  2. The assignment of the files to Info Object Classes is displayed.

    If a suitable Info Object Class (text, graphic, Visio object) for the selected file exists for the selected area, the Info Object Class with the generation of a display format is proposed as default.

  3. Choose Start of the navigation pathActivities Next navigation step Maintain AttributesEnd of the navigation path to continue with the generation process.

  4. The maintenance of the info object attributes is displayed.

    All mandatory attributes need to be filled so that the info object generation can be completed.

  5. Choose Start of the navigation pathActivities Next navigation step Check InEnd of the navigation path

  6. If an error occurs, the application log is displayed directly. If no problems were found, the display is optional.

  7. The Selection of Drop Operations dialog appears.

    Depending on the selected position, the object can be inserted at same level or as subnode.

  8. Save the structure.

If you have selected the option structure editor (classic), proceed as follows:

  1. Position the cursor where the new content object should be inserted.

  2. Choose Start of the navigation pathInfo Object Next navigation step Insert Next navigation step At Same LevelEnd of the navigation path or As Subnode.

    As an alternative, you can use the context menu (right mouse button) Insert at Same Level or Insert as Subnode.

  3. The Insert Info Object dialog box appears.

  4. Choose Create New Info Object.

  5. The Info Object Class dialog box appears:

  6. Select an Info Object Class (for example, Text or Slide) and copy it.

  7. Enter your required data and choose Copy.

  8. The content object processing screen appears.

  9. Enter and save the required data.

  10. Save the structure.

Result

The content object was created and inserted in the structure as a new node.
