Copying Info Objects into Enhancement Contexts

Use

You copy a particular version of an info object into the current enhancement context to reuse this info object in a modified form in your maintained enhancement contents.

In contrast to enhancing standard objects, where you copy the version from the standard context of the enhancement context, here you can copy every version of the info object and base your enhancement version on it.

You can repeat the function, for example, to discard changes in the enhancement version, or to use an updated standard version.

Prerequisites

You are in an enhancement context of an Info Object List.

Procedure

  1. Choose the info object of which you want to copy a particular version into the current enhancement context. The info object can appear as an enhancement version (with a gray background) or only as a standard version (with a yellow background) in the Info Object List.

  2. Choose Start of the navigation pathUtilities Next navigation step Context ListEnd of the navigation path.

  3. A list of existing language and release versions of the object is displayed.

  4. Select the desired version and choose Copy to Current Context.

If the chosen info object was a standard object on a yellow background in the Info Object List, it is now on a gray background and has the enhancement context (enhancement name and release) in the Enhancement and Release Enhancement attributes.

If an enhancement version of the object already existed, the Info Object List appears unchanged. However, the enhancement version is now the copied version.

Result

A copy of the chosen info object is created as the enhancement context version.
