Displaying Proposals in a Different Language

Prerequisites

A proposal already exists for the source text in a language other than your target language.

Context

If a source text's meaning is unclear, you might be able to obtain additional contextual information from a proposal that has already been created for the same source text in a different language. For this reason, the short text editor enables you to display proposal pool entries for a source text in one other language at a time.

Procedure

  1. Place the cursor on the translation line of the source text whose proposal pool entry you want to display.
  2. Choose Start of the navigation pathProposal Pool Next navigation step Display Proposals in Other LanguageEnd of the navigation path.
    If you have already entered a language in the Text Display in Other Language field in your translator settings, a dialog box appears containing the proposal pool entry in this other language. For information on these settings, see the section about Defining Your Translator Settings.

    If you have not entered a language in the Text Display in Other Language field in your translator settings, a dialog box appears listing all of the languages that are available in the system.

  3. Select the language whose proposal pool entry you want to display.

Results

A dialog box appears containing the proposal pool entry in the language that you selected for the source text. To return to the short text editor, close the dialog box.
