Price Planning

You use this component to plan changes to sales prices in the following processes:

  • Rule-based markdown controlling

  • Promotion

  • Manual price change

The Price Planning Workbench (PPW) provides you with a uniform working environment for price planning. In rule-based markdown controlling, you process markdown proposals that SAP Business Intelligence (SAP BI) has created in slow seller management and transferred to SAP ERP in a special worklist. If you create promotions and manual price changes, select the articles and organizational levels that you want. Functional integration of the sales price calculation allows you to use the information from the price calculation.

A connected budget function enables you to monitor sales deductions in the PPW that result from planned price changes. To calculate the sales deduction, the system takes into account both the price differences and the current stock and planning quantities. The system displays the effects of the price changes on different budgets in the Budget Monitor.

You save the relevant price planning data in a price plan. When planning is complete, you release the price plan for subsequent processing. You can use an approval procedure to prevent unwanted price changes if a budget overruns. Only specified approvers can then release the price plan. In subsequent processing, the system creates the sales conditions created in the price plan and updates the budgets.
