Configure and activate XML Data Archiving Service

Use

For data archiving in a Java system, you need to create the required users and the system connections and activate XML DAS on the AS Java on which XML Data Archiving Service (XML DAS) runs. You can perform the configuration steps automatically or manually.

Procedure

Configure XML Data Archiving Service and Activate (only for data archiving in the Java Application System)

  1. Call the configuration tool for functional units.

    For more information, see SAP Library under Java Functional Unit Configuration

  2. Choose the functional unit XML Data Archiving Service.

  3. Choose Activate Automatically .

    The systems performs the configuration steps described below and activates the function unit. Enter the data the system requires.

    • Create administration user NWARCHIVE with authorization for XML DAS administration and for the Java Archiving Cockpit .

    • Create the XMLDAS user for the communication between the application system and XML DAS .

    • Enter the XMLDAS user in the data for the HTTP connection DASdefault.

    • Creating a Test Store

Configure and activate XML Data Archiving Service manually

  1. Create the required users in user management.

  2. Define the connection to XML DAS in the relevant application system.

  3. Call the configuration tool for functional units.

  4. Mark the functional unit XML Data Archiving Service as being active.
