Merge and Replace Right-Click Menus
Use
A selection menu is displayed if you press right-click and then drag a file into the 3D viewport. Using this menu, you can choose to drop the file into either a 2D layer, into the 3D scene, set it as a backplate or environment map, and modify its properties.
The available options vary, depending on whether or not an object is selected. The merge options allow you to right-click, and drag and drop an additional file into the existing scene. The part replace options allow you to replace an entire selected assembly, subassembly or part with updated geometry from a new file. This is different from the Merge options, which are available when nothing is selected in the scene.
