Prerequisites

This document is relevant if you want to copy and update package definitions created before data monitor integration. To copy package definitions created after data monitor integration, see Copy a Package Definition.

Context

When you copy a package definition created before the data monitor integration features were activated, you have the following options.

  • Copy the package definition as it is, without the data monitor integration features.

  • Copy the package definition and update the copied package definition to include the data monitor integration features.

Outlined below are the steps to follow to copy the package definition and include the data monitor integration features.

Procedure

  1. Select the package definition that you want to copy.
  2. Choose Copy.
  3. A message is displayed with the options, Activate, Defer, and Cancel. Choose Activate to copy the package definition with the data monitor integration features.
  4. Under the General Information tab, change at least one of the parameters to define the data entry environment for your reporting.
  5. Assign consolidation units.
  6. If necessary, change the language and enter a description.

A character limit of 60 characters applies to the Description field.

  7. Under the Data Entry Steps tab, update, add, move, or delete data entry steps as necessary.

When you create a step, the step is automatically populated with sections based on what is entered for the data monitor tasks.

  8. When you've added your steps, choose Synchronize Steps to synchronize the single data release tasks and validation tasks with the related tasks in the data monitor.
  9. For each Forms section in a data entry step, select one or several folders. You can enter as many folders as you want, move the folders up or down, and delete the folders.
  10. For each folder, select the read document types and the write document type that are applied when entering data in the forms contained in these folders.
  11. Save your package definition.

Results

Once you save the package definition, the packages are displayed in the Enter Package Data app.
