Sharing Business Objects from Object Pages

You perform this activity to share business objects from their respective object pages.

Prerequisites

  • You have created an authorization group.

    For more information, see Creating Authorization Group.

  • Your user ID has the roles SHARING_DELETE, or SHARING_EDIT assigned.

    For more information, see Sharing Business Objects from Object Pages.

  • You have ensured that the objects you want to share are in Published or In Revision states.
  • You have ensured that you own the object you want to share.

Context

You can share business objects directly from the objects pages of the following applications:

  • Models

  • Equipment

  • Announcements

  • Templates

  • Documents

  • Instructions

  • Locations

  • Functional Locations

  • Work Orders

  • Notifications

  • Spare Parts

For simplicity, we explain sharing a model from the Models object page. For more examples, see Sharing a Work Order or Operation and Sharing a Notification.

Procedure

  1. Launch the Models application.
  2. From the Models landing page, open the model you want to share.
  3. In the Models object page, choose Share.
  4. In the Select a Group to Share pop-up window, choose the group you want to share the model with.
  5. Choose Share.
  6. In the Share pop-up window, review all the objects that are ready to be shared.
    You can expand the nodes under Dependent Objects to review.
  7. Provide Read or Write privileges by using the switch or the Access privilege dropdown menu to assign privileges to multiple objects at once.
  8. Choose Share.
