Spare Parts

Spare parts are components that are kept in your inventory as spare. Typically, these components are not fitted into your item of equipment, but can be fitted into the item of equipment when needed.

With SAP Asset Intelligence Network, you can create and maintain a record of these spare parts. Also, if these spare parts are fitted into the physical item of equipment, you can assign these spart parts to the corresponding model on the network.

In SAP Asset Intelligence Network, you can record the spare part's manufacturing information, dimensions, quantity, shelf life, to name a few. A spare part inherits attributes from a subclass. You can assign a spare part to a model.

Using the Spare Parts application, you can:

Create spare parts (see Creating Spare Parts)
Share spare parts with an authorization group (see Sharing Business Objects from Object Pages)
Delete spare parts from SAP Asset Intelligence Network (see Deleting Spare Parts)
