Copy a Model Wage Type as a Prototype

Use

If some of the wage types that you require have similar wage type characteristics, you can use prototypes to create your customer-specific wage type catalog. You copy a model wage type as a prototype from a wage type group of the SAP wage type catalog to the customer-specific namespace. You can adjust the wage type characteristics of the prototype so that they meet the requirements of your enterprise. You then create the remaining customer-specific wage types of this wage type group by copying the prototype several times.

If you want to use this procedure, you must have an exact overview of how you want to implement wage types at your enterprise.

Procedure

  1. On the initial screen of the wage type copier , choose Copy .

The Copy Wage Types screen appears.

  • The Test Run function is active. You are advised to perform a test run first.

  • To use the wage type copier live, deactivate the Test Run function.

  1. In the Original WT field, enter the model wage type for your prototype and choose .

The wage type texts of the model wage type are displayed.

  1. In the Customizing WT field, enter the customer-specific wage type name for your prototype and choose .

Note Note

Only use wage type names from the customer-specific namespace, in other words, names that start with a digit.

  1. Adapt the wage type texts to meet your requirements, if necessary.

  1. Select the wage type and choose Copy .

Result

You have copied a model wage type to the customer namespace as a prototype. A list of copied wage types is displayed for you to check.

Your customer-specific wage type has the same wage type characteristics as the SAP model wage type that you copied. You can change these characteristics in all the Customizing steps that enable you to edit wage type characteristics.

Example Example

In Customizing for Personnel Administration, for example, the Wage Types section is available for each infotype within Payroll Data . You can edit the wage types that are valid for this infotype.

To change the dialog characteristics of your customer-specific secondary wage types, access Customizing for Payroll and choose Start of the navigation path Basic Settings Next navigation step Environment of Wage Type Maintenance Next navigation step Check Wage Type Characteristics End of the navigation path .
